Failures and Setbacks - the best way to learn

When I look back at my life, I realise that the best lessons I learned were when I failed or suffered a setback, rather than when someone taught me something theoretically or practically. This is because when we face a setback, we reflect, we ask ourselves questions. Asking yourself questions is a very powerful method of learning because it helps you raise your awareness. And when we ask ourselves the right questions, we get the right answers. Insight comes only with questioning because the inspiration you seek is already with you.

The problem is, many people resort to asking the wrong questions like ‘Why does this always happen to me?’ Or ‘Why can’t I get anything right?’ or ‘Why is success eluding me?’ This doesn’t help.

This is what Coaches do. They help clients ask the right questions and facilitate insights.
